Etsy Shop is now LIVE!

Remember that time a while back when I put my 2016 goals out there to help keep me accountable? And then a few months later, I did a sneak peek and announced that the Etsy shop was coming soon? Well, I’m so excited to say that TODAY is the day the Etsy shop is live!!!! Gahh! That feels so good and I am so excited! This is something that has been in the works for a long time and has been in my heart for so much longer.

I have a few things up and ready to go with the launch of the new shop, from wedding and bridal shower invitations to hand-lettered prints. I’ve been hard at work, working on other products to add to the shop, but more details of those products to come soon 🙂

Splurge Where it Counts // Wedding Planning

Save the date 2

Weddings can be stressful, with so many to-do’s and so little time, they can become very time consuming. Even with an 18-month long engagement, tasks, decisions and the never ending to-do’s can sneak up on you. With my background and experience, planning a wedding or any event is something I absolutely enjoy, I love designing, creating and managing all aspects. And when it comes to the details, I am all for them, even if I am the only who will notice. Where most brides seem to get caught up is trying  to take on too many DIY projects or not knowing what to handle themselves versus having done by a professional.

A while back I raved about our photographer + videographer, Life and Love Studios, here. She put us at ease and made us feel comfortable during the 4 hour shoot. If there is one place to splurge, photography is definitely it. The photos are going to be the one piece of the wedding that will last longer than the big day. So go ahead and spend a little extra!

Another place to splurge and make your to-do’s a little easier is by having your save the dates and wedding invites done by creative professionals. I used for ours and I’m in love with their quality, they know how to do it right! Their standard paper and envelopes are a  heavier weight than most. We received so many compliments from our save the dates, one person almost threw it out because they thought it was an ad. Between the photography and the quality of the paper they seriously thought it was an ad – how crazy?!’s Paper:

These save the dates were all about the details, the thick, luxurious stock and the print quality really set them apart. Ordering our save the dates was so easy, the hard part was choosing a photo to use with the foil design I fell in love with! They even had an option to have all of the envelopes addressed for the same price, really making the whole process so easy and cost-effective.

Minted has so many great stationary, wedding and home decor items it’s hard to always stay focused on wedding tasks. With our move coming up in t-minus 2 weeks, I’ve been eyeing a few things for the new home : )

I can’t wait to move in and start decorating our new place with a few of these fun finds! Are you planning a wedding and having other major life changes go on at the same time? What are you taking on yourself versus letting the professionals handle?

Sneak Peek: The Wedding Invitation

Mike and I are celebrating two milestones this month, 7 years together and a year of being engaged! However, we are still 7 months away from walking down the aisle and saying “I do”. Since I am doing very well with all of my wedding to-do’s I turned my focus to wedding invitations. Oh and how I love invitations… the paper, fonts and pretty little details have me all giddy inside! I could spend hours just flipping through the books and admiring the different styles, and if you ask my Maid Of Honor, she will tell you we did just that (although for her it was probably torture). As we sat there in the studio and looked at the various styles I noticed I liked a piece from different designs, after leaving I wasn’t sure which one I really wanted to move forward with. I thought about it a bit longer and decided I could design them myself. I mean I’ve designed invites for baby showers, graduations, anniversary parties and much more, why couldn’t I design it for my wedding?!

And I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am with this decision – I spent all day on Sunday designing, cutting, redesigning and mocking up our wedding invite! My desk was a complete and utter disaster! I had trim paper everywhere, multiple scissors and cutting boards laying around, various papers, glue tape and everything else just crowding my work surface. My OCD tendencies were going crazy, but the designer in me loved it all. By Sunday afternoon I had crafted a complete draft of the wedding invitation. Like I said, it’s a mockup, so I am going to order the actual colored paper for the backing versus using a printed color, but I think it does a great job of showing what the final design will look like, here’s a sneak peak:

What do you think? Did you design your wedding invites or were you happy to order them and have someone else design them?
